Mateusz Sadowski
「Shape of the Moment」&「It Takes Time」
Experimental three-dimensional stop-motion animation combining moving images, photographic and sculptural techniques.
Using unique techniques and time-consuming processes associated with animation pre-production and post-production, he explores forms of imaging in an era of widespread automation of perceptual processes and the possibility of circumventing ready-made perceptions.
The moving image was created by adding and subtracting frames placed in the background of a stop-motion animation.
Adjacent scenes change each other's character, playing with the emotions evoked by the moving image and the time involved in interpreting the image.
